BIX is a business event for the bio industry, bringing together domestic and international pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, hospitals, research institutions, and investment institutions. It provides a venue to share industry trends and explore opportunities for cooperation through exhibitions and conferences.
The city has set up its pavilion under the theme “Siheung, Gyeonggi Province: An Innovation Hub Shaping the Future of Korea’s AI and Bio Industries.” Its exhibits cover five areas: ▲the full-cycle K-bio innovation ecosystem; ▲key infrastructure for AI-bio convergence centered on Seoul National University’s Siheung Campus; ▲a next-generation clinical hub based on AI and medical data; ▲strategies to develop the AI- and robot-based bio materials, parts, and equipment industries; and ▲support programs for companies attracting investment.
The pavilion places particular emphasis on the bio industry ecosystem spanning research and development, clinical trials, validation, and manufacturing, as well as strategies to develop industries by incorporating AI technologies. The city aims to highlight the strengths of its bio-specialized complex and the potential for growth through AI convergence.
Domestic and international companies and investment institutions are being briefed on Siheung’s location advantages and business support programs. On-site consultations and networking are also helping expand opportunities for cooperation among companies and for attracting investment.
The Siheung Bio Global Bridge Forum will be held on October 29 at the open stage in Hall C of COEX. The forum will share the vision for the Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, bio cluster and strategies for entering global markets, drawing on the example of Basel, Switzerland. The city also plans to sign business agreements with the Siheung Industry Promotion Agency and domestic and international partner organizations to support the growth and overseas expansion of bio companies.
