They reviewed the development of a platform for real-time management of outsourced farming operations and viewed smart agricultural machinery and materials. Chairman Kang took part in a rice-harvesting demonstration using a smart combine, showcasing NongHyup's smart farming operations service.
Autonomous agricultural machinery uses advanced technologies such as the Global Positioning System (GPS) and sensors to determine its own location, detect and avoid obstacles, and control its route. NongHyup expects the technology to reduce labor requirements and farmers' fatigue while improving work precision, helping to address labor shortages in rural areas.
To promote outsourced smart farming operations in line with government policies, NongHyup is supporting the purchase of autonomous agricultural machinery, developing NongHyup cooperatives specializing in smart farming operations, and operating a real-time management platform.
