HanAll Biopharma Posts KRW 1.3 Billion Operating Profit in Q3... Drug Development Gains Come Into View
Revenue of KRW 39.9 billion
'Biotop' posts record quarterly sales
HanAll Biopharma continued to deliver steady results in the third quarter, buoyed by increased sales of its key medicines, including probiotics and a hair loss treatment. In October, a drug it developed in-house received marketing authorization overseas for the first time, bringing its drug development achievements into clearer view.
On October 28, HanAll Biopharma said it recorded consolidated revenue of KRW 39.9 billion, operating profit of KRW 1.3 billion and net profit of KRW 3.1 billion in the third quarter. Revenue for the first three quarters totaled KRW 124.2 billion.
Its probiotic product Biotop posted quarterly revenue of KRW 7.6 billion, a record high. Cumulative revenue reached KRW 22.3 billion, up 31% from the same period a year earlier, bringing the company closer to its target of KRW 30 billion in annual revenue.
Other key products also continued to grow. Cumulative revenue for Normix, a non-absorbable antibiotic, and Eligard, a prostate cancer treatment, reached KRW 15 billion and KRW 13.1 billion, respectively. Hairgrow tablets, a finasteride-based hair loss treatment, exceeded monthly sales of 2.5 million tablets in September. In October, the company expanded its range of hair loss treatments with the launch of Pangro Solution 5%, a topical minoxidil treatment.
The company achieved its first commercialization milestone in its new drug business. Batoclimab, an FcRn antibody drug developed by HanAll Biopharma, received marketing authorization in China in October as a treatment for generalized myasthenia gravis. It is the first of the company's FcRn drugs to receive approval and the first drug developed in-house by the company to be approved overseas.
The next-generation FcRn antibody drug Imeroprubat (HL161ANS) is being studied in clinical trials for five indications in collaboration with global partner Immunovant: Graves' disease, treatment-resistant rheumatoid arthritis, myasthenia gravis, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) and Sjogren's syndrome. Top-line results from the registration trial for treatment-resistant rheumatoid arthritis are expected in the second half of this year, followed by key clinical results for Graves' disease and myasthenia gravis in 2027, and for Sjogren's syndrome and CIDP in 2028.
