Taeyoung Engineering & Construction Makes Its Mark with Local 'Flagship Complexes'... Gumi Park One DESIAN to Go on Sale in November
Taeyoung Engineering & Construction is strengthening its position as a landmark builder by developing large-scale residential complexes in every region it enters, drawing on its outstanding design and construction capabilities. This reflects its management philosophy of creating spaces that local communities will cherish for years to come.
In the Seoul metropolitan area, the Gwangmyeong Station area is a prime example. Taeyoung Engineering & Construction developed Gwangmyeong Station U Planet DESIAN, a 1,500-unit complex on a mixed-use development site near KTX Gwangmyeong Station in Iljik-dong, Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province. The complex brings together the company’s distinctive, high-quality and refined design and landscaping. Its landscaped area, Gwangmyeong Roof Gallery, won the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award at the 2022 Korea Landscape Architecture Awards. Today, the complex commands some of the highest property prices in the Gwangmyeong Station area and has established itself as a leading residential complex in the region.
In the Yeongnam region, the company has consistently introduced large-scale residential developments under leading local brands, particularly in the Changwon and Masan areas. Changwon Jungdong Unicity won the Presidential Award in the private-sector category at the 2021 Korea Landscape Architecture Awards, the first time a private-sector project had received the honor, for its theme, "A City Created by Landscaping." Metrocity Complexes 1 and 2 and Metrocity Seokjeon also command some of the area's highest home prices. In the first half of 2026, the company launched Metrocity Jasan DESIAN, a 1,250-unit complex in Jasan-dong, Masanhappo-gu. The complex recorded an average subscription competition ratio of 15.19 to 1 and sold out early, demonstrating the strength of the DESIAN brand in the Yeongnam region.
In the Honam region, the company has supplied multiple complexes in Jeonju Eco City, creating a DESIAN-branded residential district. These complexes are highly valued and are now counted among the leading developments in the Eco City area, with market prices of KRW 600 million to KRW 700 million for units with 84-square-meter exclusive-use areas. Taeyoung Engineering & Construction also won the Prime Minister's Award at the 2023 Korea Landscape Architecture Awards for "Park-Centered City, Jeonju Eco City," marking its third consecutive year of winning at the awards from 2021 through 2023.
The company has also delivered results in post-occupancy quality. In 2024, Taeyoung Engineering & Construction received the Grand Prize, the top honor, at the Customer Quality Awards organized by Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH). The awards comprehensively assess the quality of homes as experienced by residents, defect handling rates and processing times, and customer service, including staff responsiveness. Gwacheon Riofore DESIAN and Siheung Janghyeon DESIAN scored 97.22 and 98.54, respectively, both exceeding LH's quality excellence benchmark of 90 points.
The company's momentum is set to continue. Taeyoung Engineering & Construction plans to introduce a new complex in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, this November. Gumi Park One DESIAN, to be built in the Dorang-dong area of Gumi, is the city's first private-sector park-special-exemption project and will be developed alongside a park spanning approximately 170,000 pyeong (550,000 square meters). The large-scale development will comprise 2,648 units in total, with 1,355 units in Complex 1 offered for sale first. It is widely expected to grow into a landmark representing Gumi. In particular, as the first complex will have a concentration of scarce medium- and large-sized units, strong interest is expected from buyers seeking these unit types.
The emergence of these rare, large-scale branded residential districts is expected to do more than add new housing supply: it could also help revitalize sluggish local real estate markets and raise residential values overall.
In Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, Taeyoung Engineering & Construction is also participating with POSCO E&C in the Jangseong-dong redevelopment project in Buk-gu, which will comprise 2,389 units. Located near Yeongildae Beach, the project is regarded as a major urban renewal development that could enhance the future value of central Pohang, and its progress has recently accelerated.
