Interbrand cited the company's demonstrated competitiveness in future mobility technologies, including robotics and electrification, and its strengthened brand presence in major markets such as the United States and Europe as factors behind the increase in its brand value.
Business performance and product competitiveness also supported the rise in brand value. Hyundai Motor posted record revenue of KRW 186.2545 trillion last year. The company sold 1 million vehicles in the United States over the year, supported by an expanded hybrid lineup, while global sales of eco-friendly vehicles exceeded 960,000.
Major models also continued to earn awards. The IONIQ 9 won in the Large SUV category at the 2026 Women's Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY), while the Palisade took first place in the Utility category at the 2026 North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year (NACTOY) awards. The Tucson Hybrid helped drive growth in global hybrid sales, and the new Tucson, unveiled in September, is targeting the global SUV market with its next-generation hybrid system.
Hyundai Motor is expanding into future businesses, including physical AI and robotics, beyond its vehicle manufacturing operations. At CES 2026 in January, Hyundai Motor Group unveiled its strategy for a human-centered AI robotics ecosystem and its mid- to long-term commercialization plans. Since then, Hyundai Motor's market capitalization has exceeded KRW 100 trillion for the first time.
In robotics, training has begun for the Atlas humanoid robot at the Robotics Metaplant Application Center (RMAC) at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) in Georgia. Hyundai Motor Group plans to deploy Atlas at HMGMA in 2028 to sort parts, and then expand the scope of its applications.
Atlas won the Best Robot award in CNET's Best of CES 2026 selections. MobED, a next-generation autonomous mobility robot platform, also received the Best of Innovation Award in the Robotics category at CES 2026 and an award in the Product Design category at the Red Dot Design Award.
Hyundai Motor is also continuing its technology investments in autonomous driving and vehicle software. Hyundai Motor Group is strengthening its strategic partnership with NVIDIA and pursuing the transition to software-defined vehicles (SDVs) through Pleos, its software brand and technology platform.
Global sports and cultural marketing is also helping the company broaden its brand reach. Building on its partnership with FIFA, which dates back to 1999, Hyundai Motor will provide its largest-ever fleet of official vehicles for the 2026 World Cup and launch the "Next Starts Now" campaign. The company is broadening its engagement with customers in different regions by returning as a top-tier partner of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and sponsoring the South American football tournament Copa Libertadores.
Advertising campaigns have also won recognition on the international stage. "Coqui Alarmed," by Hyundai Motor Puerto Rico, won the Grand Prix in the Audio & Radio category at Cannes Lions 2026. The "Forests Without Names" campaign, which aims to protect marine ecosystems, won a Bronze Lion in the Creative Data category.
