The two complexes are expected to add a total of 359 housing units.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on October 28 that four proposals passed review at the 19th meeting of the Architectural Committee, held on October 27: the Jamwon Dong-A Apartment Remodeling Project, the Garak Ssangyong 1-cha Apartment Remodeling Project, the Anam Station Area Revitalization Project, and the Gwangheungchang Station Area Long-Term Jeonse Housing Project.
Completed in 2002, Jamwon Dong-A will add 82 units, increasing from 991 to 1,073, through horizontal expansion remodeling. The project will also upgrade infrastructure, including nearby roads and parks, and improve the residential and pedestrian environments.
Garak Ssangyong 1-cha, completed in 1997, will retain the frame of the existing buildings while undergoing both vertical and horizontal expansion. Through the project, the number of units will increase by 277, from 2,064 to 2,341. The additional units will be offered for general sale. The buildings are planned to reach a maximum height of 27 floors.
Educational and childcare facilities, community facilities, public pedestrian passages, and open parking lots are planned inside and around the complex. The Seoul Metropolitan Government expects the project to improve high-density, aging apartment complexes and contribute to housing supply in the city center.

View original imageThe Anam Station Area Revitalization Project in Seongbuk-gu, which passed architectural review, is a mixed-use development of aging and underused land near Anam Station on Subway Line 6. The site will comprise two buildings, with five basement levels and 28 floors above ground, and a total floor area of approximately 28,310 square meters. It is near Korea University and Korea University Anam Hospital, where demand for housing and office space is high.
The mixed-use development will provide 132 urban rental housing units. The plan includes 30 public rental units and 102 private rental units. Neighborhood facilities on the first basement level through the third floor above ground will provide amenities for residents.
In addition, public contributions will fund public office facilities on the first and second floors above ground, to be used for youth startup support and shared office space. A road blocked near the northern junction adjacent to the site will be opened to vehicle traffic, and conditions for vehicle movement and pedestrian spaces will be improved.

The site is adjacent to Gwangheungchang Station on Subway Line 6, with convenient access to Yeouido and the city center via Seogang Bridge and Gangbyeonbuk-ro.
The apartments will feature building and unit layouts designed to take advantage of views of the Han River, along with a range of architectural elements to create a more pleasant residential environment. The women’s employment and entrepreneurship support center will serve as a hub for supporting local women’s participation in economic activities through tailored career counseling, vocational training, and other services.
