GS Retail's Wine25Plus Surpasses 200 Billion Won in Cumulative Orders Six Years After Launch
Order value up 46.7% this year
Additional purchases at GS25 and GS THE FRESH as well
GS Retail said on the 28th that Wine25Plus, its smart liquor-ordering platform, surpassed 200 billion won in cumulative orders (as of the end of September), six years after its launch.
Wine25Plus is a service that lets customers order alcoholic beverages through mobile apps such as the Our Neighborhood GS app and KakaoTalk Gift, then pick them up at GS25 and GS THE FRESH stores. It sells around 10,000 types of alcoholic beverages, including wine, whiskey, sake and baijiu.
Order value from January to September this year rose 46.7% from the same period last year, while the number of repeat customers increased 32.1%. New customers are also joining at a rate of around 100,000 a year.
Additional purchases resulting from store visits have also been observed. Among Wine25Plus customers, about 25% at GS25 and about 50% at GS THE FRESH bought additional products. About 20% of first-time customers were found to have used the Our Neighborhood GS app for the first time through Wine25Plus.
GS Retail will hold its fifth liquor fair, “Grand Tasting,” on the 29th at GS Tower in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul. The event will feature a talk on Kweichow Moutai, China's leading baijiu, as well as a premium liquor tasting session.
