AI Recommends Tailored Jobs... Korea Employment Information Service Wins Excellence Award
An artificial intelligence (AI) job recommendation service operated by the Korea Employment Information Service has been recognized for its achievements in AI innovation at a public institution.
The Korea Employment Information Service said on October 28 that it had won an Excellence Award for its AI job recommendation service in the 2026 Public Institution AI Innovation Challenge, selected by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Science and ICT.
The AI job recommendation service uses artificial intelligence and ontology technology to automatically extract and analyze job competencies from job seekers' resumes and companies' job postings, and recommend jobs tailored to each individual. Since its launch in 2020, the service has been improved through model retraining, incorporating preferences by age group, and introducing deep learning- and similarity-based recommendation models.
Use of the service has also grown. In the first half of 2026, 437,000 people used the service to apply for jobs, approximately three times the number in 2022. The number of people who found jobs recommended through the service and enrolled in employment insurance also rose to about 19,000, an increase of approximately 1.9 times over the same period.
