Since 2017, NC has partnered with the Korea Internet Corporations Association to help startups participate in G-STAR, supporting them for the 10th time this year. Through last year, it had provided support to 43 startups on a total of 51 occasions. Key forms of support include independent booths in the business-to-business (B2B) pavilion, exhibition tickets, business collaboration opportunities with industry figures, and publicity opportunities such as media interviews.
According to a survey by the association, the 17 NC-supported startups that responded reported combined revenue of approximately 67.58 billion won last year, a 558% increase from the approximately 10.27 billion won they had generated when they participated in G-STAR. Their cumulative revenue since participating reached approximately 290.77 billion won. One company that had no revenue when it participated in 2022 had generated cumulative revenue of 194.1 billion won by October this year.
Employment and investment results also followed. The respondent companies' workforce grew from 163 at the time of their participation to 448 currently, creating 285 new jobs. Since participating in G-STAR, the companies have attracted a cumulative 19.28 billion won in investment and signed contracts worth 15.72 billion won. In addition to G-STAR, NC supports startups in participating in major domestic and international game shows, including the Busan Indie Connect Festival (BIC), IndieCraft, and the Taipei Game Show.
Park Seongho, president of the Korea Internet Corporations Association, said, “I deeply appreciate NC's dedication and efforts to foster shared growth as a reliable partner to game startups over the past 10 years. The association will also work with NC and other member companies to provide continued support so that startups with innovative ideas can fully demonstrate their capabilities in a healthy industry ecosystem.”
