Before the ceremony, the city held its first fashion show under the slogan "The Sea's Imprint, the First Step of Boryeong Mud," featuring 13 fashion models showcasing the value of mud through fashion. One hundred works capturing Boryeong's past, present and future also greeted visitors, while the auditorium filled with excitement and anticipation.
On the 27th, Boryeong Mayor Eom Seungyong held an event titled "100 Days of Progress, Four Years of Promise - A Proclamation Before the Citizens." The event was organized to share the achievements of 100 days of innovation since the launch of the ninth popularly elected administration and to envision the next four years together with citizens. It opened with a pre-ceremony performance featuring newly hired civil servants' hopeful choreography and a declaration of a new beginning.
The highlight of the main event was undoubtedly the on-site talk show. Boryeong Mayor Eom Seungyong took the microphone and went onstage to speak candidly with citizens about the challenges of the past 100 days and the direction Boryeong should take over the next four years.
"Amid the waves of sweeping change, the past 100 days have been devoted entirely to listening to citizens and laying the 'foundation for change' to fundamentally transform Boryeong," Mayor Eom said. "With the conviction that a crisis is also an opportunity, we established four key initiatives - smart administrative innovation, medical service reform, talent development for Boryeong Harbor, and the creation of a platform for the residential population - and refined concrete implementation plans, led by the Future Strategy Office task force, which we are presenting to citizens today," he said, reflecting on the effort.

To that end, he said, "We will firmly expand the educational foundation by attracting a prestigious university and complete an ecosystem for 'talent development for Boryeong Harbor,' where our children can be born and raised in the region and grow into future leaders of Boryeong."
He also outlined his vision for Boryeong over the next four years: "We will accelerate projects related to Cheongcheon Lake, Daecheon Stream and Soetgae Port, returning Boryeong's water resources and ecological spaces to its citizens. We will also use the city's precious historical and cultural assets, including Gutzlaff, Galmaemot and the Seongjusa Temple Site, to create distinctive cultural content, such as films, and showcase Boryeong's appeal to the world."
As the final event, 33 citizen representatives held cheering sticks aloft and performed a ceremony pledging a new leap forward for Boryeong.
As one citizen left the venue, they smiled and said, "The mayor came out in person and explained point by point how our neighborhood will change, which gives me confidence. This doesn't feel like an empty slogan - it makes me hopeful that my life will really get better."
