A total of 65 people took part, including 61 street-stall operators and district office employees.
Merchants cleared away cigarette butts, plastic bags, paper cups and other trash discarded around their stalls, while the district removed illegally stored items and inspected the hygiene of cooking facilities. During the cleanup, it collected 750 liters of household waste and cleared illegally stored items along a stretch of about 4 km. The district said the merchants' direct participation had laid the groundwork for continued public-private cooperation.
In July and August, the district also conducted intensive cleanups at 13 locations with frequent complaints, including around major subway stations and traditional markets, targeting illegal street stalls and items left on sidewalks. It encouraged the operators of 16 illegal street stalls to clean up their sites voluntarily.

District Mayor Park Junhee said, "This cleanup was especially meaningful thanks to the voluntary participation and cooperation of street-stall merchants. We will continue to create a pedestrian environment where residents can walk safely and comfortably, and work together with merchants to make Gwanak a place everyone wants to walk around and visit again."
