Outdoor Tables in Konkuk Alleys Every Night... Gwangjin-gu's 'Dalbit Yajang' Opens Oct. 29
Nine-day pilot run; "Cheongchun Itgil" festival also set for opening day
Gwangjin-gu, Seoul (District Chief Kim Kyungho), announced on October 27 that it will pilot “Dalbit Yajang” for nine days, from October 29 through November 6, setting up outdoor tables in front of shops along Konkuk University Food Street. On the first day, a festival promoting the Konkuk commercial district brand “Cheongchun Itgil” will also take place.

Konkuk University Food Street was selected in September as one of six sites chosen by the city.
The outdoor dining event will run daily from 6 p.m. to midnight in the areas around Achasan-ro 31-gil, Dongil-ro 24-gil, and Achasan-ro 33-gil. Tables and chairs will be set up in front of shops within designated areas so visitors can eat food from nearby businesses outdoors. Vehicle traffic will be restricted on these streets during operating hours.
The festival will kick off with an opening ceremony at 5 p.m. on October 29 at Konkuk University’s Cheongchun Tteurak, followed by a dance competition, a flea market, and brand experience zones. It is organized by the Gwangjin Comprehensive Support Center of the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation and the Konkuk Commercial District Merchants’ Association. In January this year, the Konkuk commercial district was selected for the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Local Brand Commercial District Development Project and launched the “Konkuk Cheongchun Itgil” brand. The festival was planned to reflect the area’s character as a university and transit hub, as well as the tastes of its main visitors, people in their 20s and 30s.
The district plans to start the festival and outdoor dining event on the same day so visitors to Cheongchun Tteurak will also visit shops in the surrounding alleys.

“I hope this festival and Dalbit Yajang will help showcase the charm of the alleys in the Konkuk commercial district and support local merchants,” District Chief Kim Kyungho said. “We will continue working with merchants to bring out the area’s distinctive character and create a lively alley-based commercial district that people will want to visit again.”
