The store will have 98 seats, and its menu will be the same as that of the first store. Customers can choose from burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, salads and quesadillas, then customize their meal with rice, beans, a main ingredient, salsa and toppings.
Chipotle has enhanced its app services to reduce the burden of waiting in person. Customers can place an order through the app before visiting the store and pick it up at the designated time at the pickup counter. The second location, the Gangnam Shinsegae branch, will also offer a waitlist service. Customers can register their waiting information on a tablet and visit the store when they receive a notification 10 minutes before their turn.
Customer events will also be held to mark the opening of the second store. The first 150 customers to visit on opening day will receive a Chipotle key ring, and all customers who purchase an item through November 3 will receive a sticker featuring the Chipotle logo and signature menu items.
Chipotle opened its first store in Korea, also its first in Asia, the Gangnam-daero branch, on September 2. Beef barbacoa and pork carnitas were notably popular, with their share of sales about five times higher than in the U.S. market. More than 60% of customers also chose guacamole.
