Beno T&R Wins First Order Since Launching Semiconductor Division; US Battery Project Worth KRW 5.2 Billion
KOSDAQ-listed Beno T&R has secured its first order since establishing its Semiconductor Division, expanding its business into semiconductor and battery engineering.
Beno T&R disclosed on October 26 that it had signed a KRW 5.2 billion contract to participate in a project to build a U.S. production facility for a global North American battery manufacturer. The contract value is equivalent to approximately 110% of the company’s revenue in its most recent fiscal year, and the contract period runs from October 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027.
As part of the project, Beno T&R will install secondary battery control controllers at a battery manufacturing facility in the United States and carry out related utility hook-up work.
The company said the order is significant because it marks the first achievement of its recently established Semiconductor Division. Beno T&R has maintained its existing construction business while developing its bio and robotics businesses as future growth drivers. However, it decided to expand into semiconductor and battery equipment after determining that those businesses would need more time to generate substantial revenue.
The project will apply the company’s technology for supplying high-purity chemicals used in semiconductor processes to battery manufacturing processes. The company also expects that participating in a global battery manufacturer’s U.S. facility construction project will give it a track record that could help it enter the North American secondary battery supply chain.
Beno T&R plans to first complete the project reliably and on schedule to establish a record of supplying the North American market. The company said that, because the equipment will operate in connection with the battery production line, demand could arise for additional related equipment and auxiliary facilities as the production line is expanded or processes are upgraded.
Building on this supply agreement, the company aims to continue discussions on supplying follow-on equipment for the project and generate additional revenue for its Semiconductor Division. At the same time, it plans to use this track record to diversify its customer base for chemical supply systems used in semiconductor and battery manufacturing processes.
“This order marks the first achievement since the establishment of our Semiconductor Division and is also significant because it represents our first participation in a North American battery project,” said Shin Dongbeom, CEO of Beno T&R. “We will supply the equipment for the contracted project reliably and on schedule, build our customer’s trust, and turn this into follow-on equipment orders as we develop semiconductor and battery engineering into core businesses for the company.”
He added, “We will also continue to develop our bio and robotics businesses as medium- to long-term growth drivers and maintain a balanced business portfolio.”
