The AI Festival was designed to identify innovative ideas combining finance and AI and to nurture talent who will lead the future financial industry.
A total of 1,052 teams applied to participate in this year's competition, more than twice the 443 teams that applied last year. This year's competition focused on developing AI agents in three categories: financial products, pensions, and disclosures. The participating teams used Naver Cloud's HyperCLOVA X large language model (LLM) and Naver Cloud infrastructure to build AI agents themselves.
For the final round held on October 19, a total of six teams, two in each category, advanced after quantitative and qualitative evaluations. Before their final presentations, they refined their ideas with AI experts from Mirae Asset Securities and further advanced their AI agents.
At the final round on October 19, the teams gave 20-minute presentations and demonstrations of their proposals, followed by a question-and-answer session with the judging panel. Attendees included Mirae Asset Securities Vice Chairman Kim Miseop, Park Honggeun, Senior Vice President of the IT Division, Ju Semin, head of the Tech & AI Division, Naver Cloud CTO Kwak Yongjae, Kang Jeongho, managing director overseeing financial business, and Jeong Naksu, managing director overseeing technology content.
The grand prize went to the Dahaem team, which proposed an agent system that systematically structures disclosure data and uses it to analyze and make recommendations in response to user questions. The team designed a harness structure to manage AI models' workflows and improve the quality of their output. It was also recognized for implementing a reliable agent system by strengthening the design of guardrails to prevent AI from giving inappropriate or inaccurate answers, as well as the verification process.
The grand prize-winning team will receive a cash award and the opportunity to take part in an internship program linked to recruitment at Mirae Asset Securities.
