About 300 people attended, including Jinan County Governor Jeon Chunseong, Jinan County Council Chair Kim Myeonggap, Provincial Council member Jeon Yongtae, heads of government agencies and civic groups, and local residents.
The projects breaking ground are two of the four planned for the Hakcheon District: the construction of the Jinan Forest of Wisdom Library and the development of a multi-purpose platform. Starting with these two projects, the county plans to gradually expand spaces that connect culture, leisure, and everyday life.
The Forest of Wisdom Library will have one basement level and two floors above ground, with a gross floor area of 2,990 square meters. The project will cost 18.1 billion won, and the library is scheduled to open in October 2028. Beyond providing space for reading and study, it is expected to serve as a place where residents can access knowledge and culture and interact with one another.
The multi-purpose platform project, which will receive 17.1 billion won in funding, involves building a 180-space public parking lot and a 5,047-square-meter multi-purpose cultural plaza. Completion is targeted for June 2028.
Following the start of these two projects, Jinan County plans to proceed in stages with construction of the Jinan Culture and Arts Center and the All-Family Daolmaru.
The Jinan Culture and Arts Center is expected to receive 25.1 billion won, while the All-Family Daolmaru is set to receive 10 billion won. The county plans to link the four Hakcheon District projects to establish community infrastructure encompassing learning, cultural and artistic activities, and leisure for families.
