NH NongHyup Bank Uses Video Calls to Prevent Financial Fraud... Introduces 'Additional Authentication'
Counselors assess suspected financial fraud transactions via video calls
Based on customers' answers, expressions, and tone of voice
NH NongHyup Bank has launched an initiative to prevent losses from new types of financial fraud by using video calls.
NH NongHyup Bank announced on October 26 that it had introduced a video-call additional authentication feature for its Fraud Detection System (FDS) to strengthen its efforts to prevent financial fraud losses.
For transactions suspected of involving financial fraud, such as loan scams, an FDS counselor contacts the customer by video call before the customer makes a transfer to verify the purpose and circumstances of the transaction. The counselor assesses the likelihood of fraud by considering the customer's answers, facial expressions, and tone of voice. If financial fraud is suspected, the transaction is blocked.
