The company expanded the event by combining its in-house idea festival, M.Fields Festa, with Invention Day, an event to share intellectual property and encourage invention. It was organized to foster Hyundai Mobis' distinctive R&D culture, in which creative proposals lead to actual technology development and the acquisition of intellectual property rights.
Hyundai Mobis operates M.Fields, an in-house platform that identifies employees' ideas and incorporates them into its business and R&D activities. This year, the company received about 650 ideas focused on key areas of future mobility, including electrification, automotive electronics, chassis and safety, and software. Since the platform was launched in 2020, it has received a cumulative total of approximately 6,400 proposals.
Five outstanding ideas, selected through internal recommendations and reviews by relevant departments, advanced to the final round. The proposers presented the background behind their ideas and what set the technologies apart, while more than 300 employees attending the event voted in real time to select this year's best ideas.
This year's top ideas were "AVN-AR Driver Assistance System Using Color Visualization of the Relative Speeds of Surrounding Vehicles," which uses color to show the movements of nearby vehicles and intuitively alert drivers to dangerous situations, and "Generative AI-Based AR Traffic Regulations Guidance System," which uses generative artificial intelligence (AI) to provide real-time guidance on traffic regulations relevant to driving conditions. Byeon Byeongmun and Park Seongguk, Hyundai Mobis researchers who received the top award, said, "We believe that the effort we have put into considering what features drivers need has paid off."
At the event, Hyundai Mobis also recognized employees for achievements in R&D and intellectual property, including outstanding patents, employee inventions, top designers, and intellectual property (IP) contributions, in addition to the top ideas. The company also set up exhibition spaces showcasing outstanding ideas, patents, and collaboration cases, along with interactive booths featuring prototypes built from ideas, giving attendees the opportunity to experience firsthand how technologies develop into products and patents.

Hyundai Mobis is also accelerating efforts to strengthen its intellectual property capabilities. Over the past three years, it has filed approximately 7,300 new patent applications, about 44% of which are related to eco-friendly and future technologies. As of the end of last year, its cumulative patent portfolio had exceeded 10,000. Since 2020, the company has also rewarded outstanding patents applied to mass-produced products through its employee invention performance-based compensation program. Hyundai Mobis plans to expand its support so that employees' original research achievements can lead to key future mobility technologies and intellectual property.
