The program was jointly organized by the foundation, the Gangneung Tourism Development Corporation, and the Gangwon National University Job Plus Center, among others. It was designed to give young people the opportunity to experience international events firsthand and to strengthen their understanding of the MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) industry and their practical skills through exchanges between regions.

From October 19 to 23, participants visited the 2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress, held in and around Gangneung Olympic Park. ITS stands for intelligent transportation systems. The congress featured international academic conferences, an industry exhibition, and technology demonstrations related to autonomous driving, artificial intelligence (AI), and smart transportation systems.

The supporters toured the Gangneung Convention Center and major event venues at Olympic Park to learn how large-scale events combining international conferences and exhibitions are run. They also learned firsthand how academic conferences, industry exhibitions, and technology demonstrations are connected.

They then visited promotional centers run by the Gangwon Tourism Foundation and the Gangneung Tourism Development Corporation, where they learned about efforts to attract international conferences and examples of MICE marketing using local tourism resources. At Arte Museum and around the Heo Gyun and Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Hall, they explored ways to incorporate cultural and tourism content into programs for international conference attendees.

"This training was a meaningful opportunity for young people to experience a world-class international event firsthand and discover the potential of Gangwon's cultural and tourism resources in the MICE industry," said Choi Seonghyeon, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Foundation. "We will continue to expand field-oriented talent development in cooperation with relevant organizations and strengthen the competitiveness of the region's MICE industry."
