Held for the first time this year, the “1st Upclass Junior Cup Quiz Competition” was an online event that ran for about seven weeks, from May 18 to July 3. A total of 2,603 students from 58 schools nationwide took part.
Upbit selected outstanding schools in four categories based on a comprehensive assessment of each school’s average score, number of participants and participation rate. The winners were Incheon Jeonggak Middle School (No. 1 nationwide in average score; Brain Class Award), Geoseong Middle School (No. 1 nationwide in number of participants; Passion Class Award), Naechon Middle School (No. 1 in participation rate in the Seoul metropolitan area; Our Neighborhood Class Award), and Yeonggwang Yeomsan Middle School (No. 1 in participation rate outside the Seoul metropolitan area; Our Neighborhood Class Award).
After the competition ended, Upbit visited each of the four winning schools to carry out meaningful follow-up activities. To reward students for their enthusiastic participation, it gave the outstanding schools “snack trucks from Upbit.” At Naechon Middle School, at the school’s request, students from a nearby elementary school were also invited to enjoy the snacks, bringing warmth to the local community.
The company also continued its local donation program to put the value of sharing into practice, going beyond a simple quiz competition. Dunamu set aside 3 million won in the name of each winning school, for a total donation of 12 million won. Incheon Jeonggak Middle School plans to donate 3 million won to Gachon University Gil Medical Center next month, with students deciding together to make the donation.
