Lee stressed, "We are doing everything we can to increase the likelihood of building the Shingbong-Dongbaek Line, which would connect Shingbong and Dongbaek, on the premise that it is included in the National Railway Network Development Plan."
He added, "With our semiconductor projects progressing well, we will also move forward with the railway project smoothly and work to make our vision of connecting Yongin's three districts by subway a reality."
He also explained the progress of plans for an underground expressway to reduce chronic traffic congestion on the Yongin-Seoul Expressway.
Lee said, "The project to build an underground expressway between the Seo-Suji and Geumto tollgates, a stretch of the 'unforgivable Yongseo Expressway' during rush hour, has passed the feasibility study for a privately funded project and is now at the strategic environmental impact assessment stage."
He added, "I and all public officials are doing our utmost, believing that getting past this hurdle will greatly help ease transportation difficulties in the Shingbong area. We hope residents will also join forces with us."
He also announced plans to expand community and cultural facilities.
