Gyeongnam Office of Education to Begin Recruiting Kindergarteners for 2027 on November 2
For children aged 3 to 5; apply to up to three kindergartens through the portal
The Gyeongnam Office of Education will begin accepting applications for children seeking to enroll in kindergarten for the 2027 school year through the Early Childhood Education and Childcare Integration Portal at 9 a.m. on November 2.
Eligible applicants are children aged 3 to 5 who were born between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2023.
Priority applications will be accepted from November 2 to 4, and general applications from November 17 to 23.
Starting October 28, parents can check each kindergarten's admissions information on the portal and save kindergartens they are interested in using the "Favorites" feature.
Applications can be submitted by computer or mobile phone to up to three kindergartens, regardless of whether they are public or private.
Children who will continue attending their current kindergarten may apply to up to two other kindergartens, excluding their current one.
Those who have difficulty applying online can visit their preferred kindergarten in person to submit an application.
Children will be selected through an automated computer lottery, not on a first-come, first-served basis.
Results for priority applications will be announced on November 9, and results for general applications on November 26.
Those selected through the priority application process must complete registration from November 10 to 11, while those selected through the general application process must register from November 27 to 30.
Starting this year, applicants can use the Public MyData service to submit some of the supporting documents required for admission. The service sends an individual's information held by administrative and public institutions electronically and directly to the institutions that need it, with the individual's consent.
After submitting an application, parents can complete simple authentication on the portal and submit the relevant documents.
For details about admission, contact the kindergarten concerned. For help using the system, call the Edu Call Center and follow the voice prompts to press 9 and then 1.
An official from the provincial education office said, "Each kindergarten has different eligibility requirements and enrollment numbers, as well as different criteria for priority admission. Before applying, carefully check the admissions information for your preferred kindergarten, and be sure to confirm the document submission deadline and processing status."
