"ARMUSEE Xi" Joins Kim Hong-do Festival... Highlights the Value of Art-Inspired Living

Like its name combining “ART” and “MUSEE”... linked to a major cultural festival in Danwon’s city of Ansan
Ansan is known as the city where Danwon Kim Hong-do spent his childhood and learned to paint. In addition to cultural spaces named after him, such as the Kim Hong-do Museum and Danwon Sculpture Park, visitors can learn about his life and work at the Kim Hong-do Festival, held every fall.
This year's festival will run for three days, from October 23 to 25, at Hwarang Recreation Park and its surrounding area. The program includes a madang play based on Kim Hong-do's life and work, hands-on activities recreating villages depicted in his genre paintings, a traditional playground, and other activities for families to enjoy together.
ARMUSEE Xi, a development being built near the Kim Hong-do Museum, will also take part in this year's festival. The complex name, "ARMUSEE," combines "ART" with "MUSEE," the French word for museum. Guided by the concept of "a new standard for everyday life created by art," the development is planned as a residential space where residents can encounter art throughout the complex and enjoy cultural activities suited to their tastes.
During the festival, a promotional booth will be set up at Hwarang Recreation Park to provide information about the complex's key features and sales plans. A roulette event for visitors will also be held.
A sales representative said, "We are preparing a promotional booth so festivalgoers can learn about ARMUSEE Xi at their convenience. We will introduce the complex's key features and sales plans and provide detailed on-site information to answer visitors' questions."
ARMUSEE Xi is a development planned for the area around 586 Seongpo-dong, Sangnok-gu. It is the first large-scale Xi-branded development to be introduced in Ansan in many years, following Grand City Xi. The project will comprise six buildings, rising from six basement levels to 49 floors above ground: four apartment buildings and two officetel buildings. It will include 984 apartment units and 370 officetel units, for a total of 1,354 units.
The development is said to offer a level of product quality that sets it apart from older residential complexes in the area, with an art-focused concept being introduced for the first time in Ansan. In addition to art installations throughout the complex, works by renowned artists will be displayed, with the aim of turning the entire development into a gallery.
One example is its collaboration with Gana Art. ARMUSEE Xi plans to introduce an art curation service for shared spaces in partnership with Gana Art, which has contributed to the development of contemporary art in Korea. The service will display works by renowned Korean and international artists in shared spaces, including the first-floor lobbies of each residential building and community facilities, and rotate the works every quarter in a format akin to an "art subscription." This will allow residents to enjoy a variety of artworks in their daily lives. Cultural programs, including exhibitions within the complex and a docent academy, are also planned.

A range of community facilities is also planned. The residents-only community center will feature a sky lounge, Gourmet Galleria lunch and dinner service, a sauna, a Xi Wellness Lounge, and a sound chamber. Alongside its art-focused concept, the first of its kind in Ansan, the development is said to offer a level of product quality that sets it apart from older residential complexes in the area.
With art-focused design that reflects the area's identity as the hometown of Kim Hong-do combined with high-end services, the development is expected to raise the standard of living in an area surrounded by older residential neighborhoods.
Separately from the festival booth, ARMUSEE Xi is holding project information sessions at its promotional center ahead of sales. The sessions are held twice a day, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, by advance reservation. Reservations can be made through the ARMUSEE Xi website.
