Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics are accelerating the advancement of their robotics technologies about two months ahead of CES 2027, the world's largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition, next year. Executives at both companies are inspecting robotics development sites and focusing on raising the level of completion of the technologies they will showcase at CES. The two companies are expected to focus not only on demonstrating their robotics capabilities but also on presenting products and technologies that can be used in real-world homes and industrial settings.
According to industry sources on October 23, LG Electronics CEO Ryu Jaecheol has recently been making regular visits to the company's Robot Data Factory in Yangjae-dong to check on development progress and technological advancements. He is said to be directly overseeing efforts to advance robotics technology by inspecting the development site in person.
At CES next year, as at this year's event, companies are expected to compete across a range of technologies, with AI (artificial intelligence) and robotics at the center. In particular, as companies in various countries have begun developing "physical AI" technologies since this year's CES, expectations are that the event next year will feature more sophisticated and practical robotic products.

After unveiling its home robot CLOiD at CES 2026 last January, LG Electronics is expected to focus on presenting more advanced robotics technologies at next year's CES. The company is reportedly considering unveiling CLOiD in the form of a humanoid robot capable of walking on two legs. It is also expected to focus on improving the robot's precision and practical applications in homes and industrial settings.

Researchers are said to demonstrate precision manipulation technology using a humanoid robot's arms and hands at the site.
Samsung Electronics is preparing to unveil its humanoid robotics technologies and vision at CES next year. During the visit, Executive Chairman Lee is reportedly set to review the level of completion of the robotics technologies to be showcased at CES and the state of preparations. Samsung Electronics is said to be reviewing a range of products for the event, including bipedal humanoid robots.

Samsung Electronics, which did not unveil any robotic products at the previous CES, established the RX Business Promotion Office in July under the direct supervision of Roh Tae-moon, president and CEO of its DX (Device eXperience) Division, and began developing robotics-related technologies. In August, the company also held a robotics technology demonstration for executives, attended by Roh and others. Executive Chairman Lee's visit is seen as a sign that he intends to take a direct role in overseeing the robotics business.
