The additional cashback applies to payments made with mobile gift certificates at all Hamyang Love Gift Certificate merchants. The county will allocate 100 million won in national funding for the program. The promotion may end early, even during the promotional period, if the budget is exhausted.
Separately, from October 26 through December 25, the county will provide an additional 5% cashback on payments to users who pay with mobile Hamyang Love Gift Certificates at 21 designated Good Price Businesses in the county.
Good Price Businesses are establishments designated based on criteria including reasonable prices and service. In Hamyang County, eligible businesses include restaurants, cafes, bathhouses, and beauty salons.
The additional cashback program for Good Price Businesses will receive 9 million won in national funding.
A key feature of the program is that customers can receive both the existing discount on gift certificate purchases and two types of additional cashback. Mobile Hamyang Love Gift Certificates currently come with a 12% discount at the time of purchase.
In addition, payments made with the certificates at general participating businesses during the Korea Grand Festival, from October 29 through November 15, will earn an extra 5% cashback, for total benefits of up to 17%.
In particular, during the same period, payments at designated Good Price Businesses will qualify for both the 5% Korea Grand Festival cashback and the 5% Good Price Business cashback.
Including the existing 12% purchase discount, the maximum discount benefit advertised by the county is therefore 22%.
However, the purchase discount is applied when the gift certificate is bought, while additional cashback is issued after payment based on the amount spent.
The county plans to expand residents' use of local currency through the program and encourage visits to Good Price Businesses and spending at local businesses.
A Hamyang County official said, "We will use the additional cashback support to ease the burden of spending on residents and help boost sales for local small business owners." The official added, "Users should check the promotional period, eligible businesses, and whether the budget has been exhausted before using their gift certificates."
Meanwhile, the additional cashback program applies to payments made with mobile Hamyang Love Gift Certificates, and both programs will operate within the limits of their allocated budgets.
This additional cashback program combines consumer discounts with support for local small business owners. As benefits of up to 22% are available at Good Price Businesses in particular, increased use is expected.
