Samsung Electronics will contribute KRW 100 million to the project, while the Korea Gas Safety Corporation will conduct gas safety inspections and provide technical advice at social welfare facilities. Pyeongtaek City will provide administrative support and promote the project, and the Pyeongtaek Happiness Sharing Headquarters of the Pyeongtaek City Council on Social Welfare will oversee everything from fund management to project implementation and follow-up management.
Following a demand survey and an assessment of current conditions, the Pyeongtaek Happiness Sharing Headquarters will select facilities to receive support and proceed with gas safety inspections and equipment replacements in stages.
Shin Kyungseop, a vice president at Samsung Electronics, said, “I hope this donation will be put to valuable use in creating a safe environment at social welfare facilities used by vulnerable groups,” adding, “We will continue community service activities tailored to local needs.”
Yoon Yeongman, head of the Korea Gas Safety Corporation’s Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters, said, “We will thoroughly inspect and improve safety at welfare facilities, drawing on our technical expertise and infrastructure.”
Pyeongtaek Mayor Choi Wonyong said, “This is a meaningful project in which the private sector, local government, and public institutions work together to promote community safety and welfare,” adding, “We will provide all necessary administrative support and take an active role in ensuring that the project’s results are widely shared with the community.”
