Gyeongsan City, Yeongcheon City and Cheongdo County in North Gyeongsang Province are actively pursuing initiatives for regional development, including special lectures to strengthen employees' capabilities, building a safety net for citizens, and hosting an autumn festival to bring residents together.
On October 22, Gyeongsan City held its October Employee Special Lecture in the main conference hall at City Hall for about 260 employees. The lecture focused on “Successful Local Festival Planning and City Branding Strategies.”
The lecture featured Jeon Hyojin, a senior official with Daejeon Metropolitan City and a key figure behind the hugely successful Daejeon 0 O'Clock Festival.
The lecture shared practical expertise on everything from festival planning and operations to promotion, and presented strategies for building a distinctive city brand by connecting the festival with Gyeongsan City's tourism resources, food, characters and other content.
Gyeongsan City plans to continue broadening employees' policy perspectives and strengthening their administrative response capabilities through special lectures by experts in various fields.
Yeongcheon City announced that it had successfully completed its “2026 Multipurpose CCTV Installation Project,” undertaken to protect citizens from various crimes and safety accidents.

It installed 107 new cameras at 44 locations identified as vulnerable to crime and completely replaced 176 cameras at 77 locations where aging CCTV systems had deteriorated in image quality.
The newly installed equipment is connected in real time, 24 hours a day, to the Yeongcheon City Smart City Integrated Center. It is expected to serve as a reliable safety net for residents by enabling rapid coordination with police in emergencies and helping secure the golden hour.
On October 22, the Cheongdo County Volunteer Center held the fifth “2026 Choo~mak Festival” in and around Songbuk Sports Park in Hwayang-eup, with about 300 county residents and volunteers in attendance.
The festival, themed around Cheongdo's signature foods, chueotang and Makgeolli, was organized as a gathering place for residents to connect through culture, the arts and volunteer work.
At the venue, activities including Yutnori, jegichagi and a residents' singing contest were accompanied by a “Talent-Sharing Concert” featuring 18 volunteer performance groups, with acts including Nanta drumming and saxophone performances, adding to the variety of entertainment.
