About 10 employees from Korea Zinc and its affiliates, Exis IT and KZ Precision, took part in the event, helping remove new shoots from cherry tomato plants, harvest the tomatoes, and wash and package them.

Purme Social Farm is a smart farm established by the Purme Foundation in 2022 to support the independence of young adults with developmental disabilities. It currently employs 55 young adults with developmental disabilities full-time to grow cherry tomatoes.

Since 2024, Korea Zinc has donated KRW 50 million annually to the Purme Foundation and has continued employee volunteer activities for three consecutive years. The donations are used to purchase agricultural supplies, including seedlings and fertilizer, supporting the smart farm's operations and employment stability. Purme Social Farm also provides job-experience opportunities to around 500 people, including young adults with developmental disabilities, their parents, and teachers.

A Korea Zinc official said, "We will continue our attention and support to help young adults with developmental disabilities work in a stable environment and become independent members of our society."
