CAS Heat Index Thermometer Sales Top 91,000 Units; Targets 200,000 in 2027
Expanding Supply Amid Rising Demand for Heatwave Response at Industrial Worksites... Two New Models Set to Launch
CAS, a company specializing in electronic scales and industrial weighing and measurement equipment, is expanding sales of its heat index thermometers, with cumulative sales exceeding 91,000 units. As the government strengthens policies to address heat waves at industrial worksites and companies' demand for worker safety management continues to grow, CAS is expanding its heat index thermometer business through a broad lineup of measuring instruments and multiple sales channels.
According to CAS, sales of its heat index thermometers during the summer heatwave seasons of 2025 and 2026 totaled more than 91,000 units, bringing sales close to the 100,000-unit mark. Based on consumer retail prices, the total sales value amounts to approximately KRW 3.45 billion. CAS has expanded its distribution channels by supplying products to companies and industrial worksites, primarily through its Health & Living Business Division, while also selling directly to consumers through its official online store.
The expansion in heat index thermometer sales appears to reflect changes in how industrial worksites manage responses to heat waves. In 2025, the Ministry of Employment and Labor revised laws and regulations related to occupational safety and health, specifying employers' obligations to take health measures to prevent heat-related illnesses among workers. As a result, the importance of heatwave response measures, including measuring the heat index in workplaces, providing appropriate rest breaks, and adjusting work hours, has been emphasized.
As heatwave alerts remain in effect for longer periods and heat waves grow more intense each year, demand for environmental measuring instruments is increasing across a range of industries, including not only outdoor construction sites but also indoor logistics centers and manufacturing plants.
As the need to manage heat index levels at industrial worksites grows, the range of applications for related measuring instruments is also expanding. CAS offers a broad range of products, from portable heat index thermometers to professional instruments for worksite management, meeting demand based on work environments and intended uses.
Key products include the T801 series of portable heat index thermometers, as well as the T701 and T702. CAS also supplies the T800, a two-channel heat index thermometer with a black globe, and the T802, which features data-logging functionality. This range gives customers a wide choice of products, from basic temperature checks to environmental measurement and management at industrial worksites.
Product deliveries to businesses are also continuing. CAS has expanded the use of its products at industrial worksites by supplying heat index thermometers to major companies, including GS and Hyundai Engineering & Construction. It has also secured a track record of supplying products to retail and logistics facilities, including a delivery of a total of 1,800 units, including the large-format CTL300 heat index thermometer, to an E-Mart inspection area.
Building on this sales momentum, CAS has set a target of selling 200,000 heat index thermometers in 2027. The target takes into account advance orders from existing customers and the continued growth in sales. The company expects stronger safety management at industrial worksites and the expansion of consumer sales channels to contribute to further sales growth.
CAS is also planning to launch new models to expand product supply. It plans to introduce two new heat index thermometer models in 2027, expanding its lineup to reflect sales performance of existing products and demand identified at industrial worksites. The company aims to address a wider range of work environments while attracting new customers and expanding its market share.
