"It's getting chilly in Korea"... 'Japan is prime time for a round'
Kyushu Draws Attention as an Overseas Golf Destination
Warm Climate for Enjoying Golf and Hot Springs
Japan’s Kyushu region is attracting attention as an overseas golf destination in fall and winter.
Temperatures in Korea are dropping quickly, while the southern Japanese region of Kyushu remains relatively mild. Its warm climate makes it possible to enjoy both golf and hot springs.
Shogolf, which operates XGOLF, a domestic golf platform, said on October 23 that it had analyzed Japanese golf travelers’ preferences for length of stay based on booking data from Satsuma Golf&Onsen Resort in Kagoshima Prefecture and Akamizu Golf&Onsen Resort in Kumamoto Prefecture.

Among stays of two nights and three days and three nights and four days, bookings for three nights and four days accounted for 72.7%. By contrast, stays of two nights and three days made up just 27.3%, showing a clear preference for relatively more leisurely itineraries.
By resort, stays of three nights and four days accounted for 72.1% of bookings at Satsuma Golf&Onsen Resort, while two-night, three-day stays made up 27.9%. At Akamizu Golf&Onsen Resort, three-night, four-day stays accounted for 73.1%, and two-night, three-day stays accounted for 26.9%.
Kyushu is a relatively short flight from Korea. The region is well suited to trips that combine several experiences, including not only golf but also hot springs, local sightseeing and cuisine. It is particularly appealing for golf trips during the transition from fall to winter.
Kagoshima has relatively milder winters than Korea. Satsuma Golf&Onsen Resort offers an 18-hole golf course, hot springs, a swimming pool and lodging facilities. At Akamizu Golf&Onsen Resort, visitors can enjoy a round with the natural scenery of Aso as a backdrop.

A Shogolf representative said, “When the weather in Korea turns chilly, many customers planning overseas golf trips take into account not only playing conditions but also travel distance, accommodations and rest. Kyushu offers the chance to enjoy both golf and hot springs, making it a good option for customers planning a golf trip in fall or winter.”
