The city will run a variety of craft programs, including metalworking, ceramics, paper crafts, glasswork, and candle-making, with 15 teams selected through an open call and screening process. Operators of each space will recruit participants and run the programs themselves.
Major programs include “Make a Beaded Plant” at 522 Studio, “Make Paper Flowers” at Mightykeo, “Make a Wooden Mood Lamp” at Bomeudi, and “Make Ceramic Accessories” at Dorakjae.
The city plans to use local workshops as cultural spaces in residents’ everyday lives, improving access to culture while encouraging local craftspeople’s creative activities and interaction among residents.
An Anseong City official said, “This project was created so people can encounter culture and connect with others in their daily lives without having to travel far,” adding, “We will build a close-knit cultural community where local craftspeople and residents can continue to interact.”
Schedules and participation details for each program are available from the operators of the respective spaces and on the official social media channels of Cultural City Anseong.
