Regarding the motion to renew approval for the private operation of the Gimcheon Employment Support Center, which receives KRW 270 million in annual funding, the committee stressed the need to track not only basic job placement figures but also actual employment connections and job retention. It also reviewed the need to improve operational procedures, including the management of office manuals and user satisfaction surveys.
The committee also conducted an in-depth review of a motion to approve an investment in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated Regional Growth Fund, which totals KRW 127 billion. Gimcheon City plans to invest a total of KRW 500 million from 2026 to 2028. The committee examined implementation criteria and follow-up management measures to ensure that the condition requiring investments of at least 200% of the contribution to go to companies based in Gimcheon or planning to relocate there leads to actual investment and business attraction.
The committee also reviewed items related to residents’ daily lives and agricultural communities, including reductions in water bills for senior centers, revisions to sewerage usage fee regulations, contributions to the Rural Development Fund, and improvements to support criteria for returning farmers.
Committee Chair Lee Sangwook said, "We will carefully examine the justification for public spending and the need for each project, and faithfully fulfill the council’s core review function so that policies benefit residents and revitalize the local economy."
The items reviewed are expected to be finalized after subsequent procedures, including approval by the plenary session.
