S-imoms is a digital transformation initiative that connects systems and data from across plant operations, including production, facilities, maintenance, inspections, and safety, on a single platform. It is designed to support decision-making based on field data and improve work processes.

The upgrade strengthened links among equipment operating and performance information distributed across key systems. S-OIL also enhanced its integrated information management and analysis framework to help quickly assess plant operations and improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

The safety management system has been expanded with eight modules, including management of change, incident management, and process hazard assessment, in addition to the four existing modules focused on digital work permits. Generative artificial intelligence (AI) has also been applied to the job safety analysis function. Using approximately 2,800 records of standard job risk assessments and past incident cases, the system helps identify potential hazards for each job and assess response measures.

The system has also been deployed at the Shaheen plant, which is preparing to begin commercial operations. S-OIL plans to support stable plant operations and maintenance from the start by using standardized equipment and operating data and applying operational experience accumulated at its existing plants.

Shim Hwanseung, head of S-OIL's Plant Innovation and Coordination Division, said, "We have strengthened our ability to link and utilize production, equipment, and safety data." He added, "We will continue to make active use of data and AI to improve safety and operational efficiency at our sites."
