Gyeonggi Province to Intensively Crack Down on Environmental Violations at Large Construction Sites... 210 Sites, Including Third-Phase New Towns
Gyeonggi Province will conduct an intensive crackdown from November 16 to 27, 2026, to prevent illegal acts that could cause environmental pollution at large construction sites, including those involved in developing third-phase new towns and public housing districts.
The crackdown will target 210 medium- and large-scale construction sites in the province. Inspections will focus on sites near urban areas and those that have repeatedly generated complaints.
Key inspection items include: ▲whether businesses generating fugitive dust have filed initial and amended reports; ▲whether dust-control facilities, such as dust barriers and nets, are properly installed; ▲whether required control measures, such as washing transport vehicles and spraying water on their sides, are being implemented; and ▲whether waste is being stored properly. If violations are found on site, officials will secure relevant evidence and take action in accordance with the law.
