Programs were designed to attract participants of different age groups, and key events were broadcast live on electronic display boards as part of efforts to make the festival more convenient for visitors.
The review meeting focused on issues that arose during the events and areas in need of improvement.
Key priorities included strengthening safety measures in response to changing weather conditions, adjusting sports event schedules, and improving traffic and parking management around the event venues.
Attendees said the county should prepare for risks to event operations caused by extreme weather and manage competition schedules and visitor routes more efficiently. They also discussed ways to link the events with the local economy.
They proposed connecting sales of local agricultural and specialty products with food and hands-on activities so that visitor spending could benefit local businesses.
Measures to improve operational efficiency and expand residents' participation were also considered, including combining award ceremonies, adjusting event schedules, and improving competition programs.
At the meeting, four people who contributed to preparing and running the events also received commendations. The recipients were Jeong Haegyu of Hapcheon County's Construction and Transportation Division, Kim Sanggon of Bongsan-myeon Office, An Seokho of the Daeya Cultural Festival Organizing Committee, and Na Sanghoe of the Hapcheon County Sports Council.
Sim Jaesang, chair of the Daeya Cultural Festival Organizing Committee, said, "We were able to bring the events to a successful close thanks to the participation of residents and partner organizations." He added, "We will review the feedback from this evaluation and incorporate it into future event planning."
Hapcheon County Mayor Kim Yun-cheol said, "Residents' Day, the County Sports Festival, and the Daeya Cultural Festival are local events that residents take part in together." He added, "We will use the evaluation results to improve safety management and the way the events are run."
Hapcheon County plans to review the feedback from the meeting and incorporate it into plans for future Daeya Cultural Festivals, County Sports Festivals, and other events.
The review meeting identified areas for improvement, including safety management, traffic and parking, and adjustments to sports event schedules, as well as the operational results of the Daeya Cultural Festival.
