Kim Se Young Seeks Second Straight Title: "Haenam's Strong Winds Are a Key Factor"
BMW Ladies Championship tees off on October 22
Kim Se Young: "The wind-swept 15th hole will be decisive"
Kim Se Young, the "Wizard in Red Pants," picked Haenam's strong winds as a key factor in the race for the title.
At the official press conference for the LPGA Tour BMW Ladies Championship on October 21 at Pine Beach Golf Links (par 72, 6,784 yards) in Haenam County, South Jeolla Province, Kim smiled and said, "It feels like I won just the other day, and it's a special feeling to come to Haenam as the defending champion. Since it's where my family is from, it feels even more familiar."

Asked what could affect her bid to win for a second consecutive year, Kim said, "Pine Beach is a coastal course, and I remember the wind blowing quite strongly when I played here." She added, "The practice I did today in strong winds should be a big help during the tournament. Haenam's strong winds are an important challenge the players will have to overcome." She continued, "The 15th hole is very tricky, with a hazard on the right, a cliff on the left, a long distance, and strong sea winds."
