Korea Zinc employees serve as teachers for a day, explaining scientific and engineering principles in a way that students can understand and providing hands-on lessons in which they help students build educational kits.
This year's Junior Engineering Classroom was held over three days. A total of 27 employees served as teachers for a day, joining 275 students in 13 classes from grades 4 to 6 at Deoksin Elementary School to build educational kits and learn how they work. Fourth-graders built "Equalizer Phone Stands," which light up an LED when a sensor detects something; fifth-graders built walking robots; and sixth-graders built autonomous cars.
