"Even Lee Jae-yong may not be this big a fan"... Stunned to See Galaxy Phones in a Taxi
Taiwanese Taxi Driver Turns Car into a Foldable Phone Experience Space
Collects 22 Phones, From the Flip3 in 2021 Through the Sixth Generation
"The Flip5 Is My Favorite... Seeing Several Phones Makes Me Happy"
A taxi driver in Taiwan has placed more than 20 of Samsung Electronics' Galaxy Z Flip phones in his car and lets passengers try them out.
According to Samsung Electronics and Taiwanese media outlet NOWnews, among others, on October 20, Wang Weihong, who has driven a taxi in Taiwan for 10 years, has turned his taxi into a Galaxy foldable phone experience space. He has collected about 22 Galaxy Z Flip phones and has also set aside a smartphone for passengers to try. His story came to light after Samsung Electronics' Taiwan newsroom released an interview with him on October 7.
His collecting passion began in 2021... Keeps 22 phones on and encourages passengers to try them

Drawn to its compact, foldable design and portability, he also tried a Galaxy Z Fold, but found himself more interested in the Flip models, which fit easily in his pocket. He went on to collect each generation, up to the sixth. "I never imagined at first that I'd end up filling my car with smartphones," Wang said.
He said that since he spends most of each day in his car, he wanted to keep the devices he likes close by. Wang set a different wallpaper on each phone and figured out how to keep the screens from turning off. He played music videos on the Flip phones' cover screens. With several devices turned on at once, the inside of his car became like a small exhibition space.
Passengers have taken notice. Tourists from overseas take photos inside the car, and some even give him tips. "About nine out of every 10 foreign passengers ask to take a souvenir photo when they get in," Wang said. When passengers ask about the phones, he hands them a device to try.
He praises AI, camera and durability... "I can't replace them because they don't break"
Wang says the Galaxy's strengths are ease of use and durability. "Galaxy's artificial intelligence (AI) features are easy to understand and useful in everyday life, and the camera performance is impressive," he said. His favorite model is the Galaxy Z Flip5. "The larger cover screen means there's more you can do without unfolding it, and you can customize the cover screen to suit your taste," he said. Asked why he does not switch to a new model, he said, "I keep up with all the news about new products, but my phone hasn't broken, so I haven't found a reason to replace it."
His phone is also with him in everyday life. Wang designed an accessory that lets him wear a phone on his wrist, and he leaves home each day wearing a different one. "Looking at several of them puts me in a good mood," he said. His family and relatives did not know about his hobby for some time because he usually kept the phones in his taxi. They found out only after one of his relatives rode in his taxi. He has reportedly given his family four or five foldable phones as gifts.

Meanwhile, there are consumers in other countries who collect products from a particular brand and introduce them to people around them. Yasuhiro Yamane, a Japanese IT journalist based in Hong Kong, is known to have collected more than 1,800 mobile phones. He reportedly traveled to Korea last year to buy the Galaxy Z TriFold, which folds twice, and introduced the product to around 100 acquaintances after returning to Japan.
