Gyeonggi Province to Hold Memorial Period for 4th Anniversary of Itaewon Tragedy, Offer Online Memorial Space...
Gyeonggi Province will observe a 12-day memorial period from October 19 to 30 to mark the fourth anniversary of the October 29 Itaewon tragedy.
During the memorial period, the province will fly a memorial flag at the provincial government building and put up memorial banners at its entrances. As it did last year, the province will post memorial messages this year to share the grief of the victims' families and survivors and bring residents together in remembrance.
An online memorial space will open on the Gyeonggi Province website (gg.go.kr) on October 24. Residents can pay tribute to the victims and leave messages of comfort for their families and survivors. The online space began as a memorial message board set up shortly after the tragedy and has since become a place where residents can share their grief.
