The gift came about after local supporters and baseball fans gave the children at the center the chance to make special memories at a baseball game. When news of the children’s support reached Kim, the fans’ goodwill inspired the player to give back.
Earlier, on July 21, 2026, the children visited Gwangju-Kia Champions Field to watch a professional baseball game together, using donations collected by individual supporters and baseball fans across the country. They cheered for the KIA Tigers at the stadium and experienced firsthand the baseball they usually watched on television.
After hearing about this, Kim sent the center sports equipment, including ▲baseball gloves ▲baseball bats ▲baseballs, as well as personally autographed baseballs and snacks. The children, who had cheered for the player at the stadium, were now receiving encouragement directly from a player they admired.
