It will offer a range of programs to convey its core message, “Retirement benefits for small businesses and microbusiness owners: the Yellow Umbrella,” in an approachable way.
The venue features a “Timing Game,” where visitors can experience firsthand the 3.7% compound interest rate on business-closure mutual aid benefits, and a “History Wall” tracing the Yellow Umbrella’s history. On-site consultations for visitors will also be available.
The Yellow Umbrella is a mutual aid program operated by the Korea Federation of SMEs since 2007. It supports small businesses and microbusiness owners in maintaining financial stability and restarting their businesses during crises such as business closure or old age. As of October, the number of active members had surpassed 1.92 million. Members are eligible for income tax deductions of up to KRW 6 million per year, and annual compound interest is applied to their principal contributions. Mutual aid benefits are legally protected from seizure.
The Yellow Umbrella is running a friend referral event through November 30. When an existing member recommends the program to an acquaintance who then signs up as a new member, both the referrer and the new member will receive a digital payment coupon worth KRW 50,000, redeemable through Naver Pay or Kakao Pay. If multiple acquaintances join through referrals, the member can receive KRW 50,000 in digital payment coupons for each signup, with no limit.
