Kim Siwoo to make first appearance at event hosted by Woods

Kim Siwoo and Kim Joohyoung have received invitations from “golf legend” Tiger Woods.

The organizing committee for the Hero World Challenge, a PGA Tour event hosted by Woods, announced on the 20th (Korea time) the first list of 17 players set to compete, including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and Koreans Kim Siwoo and Kim Joohyoung. Players are selected based on factors including their world rankings after the Tour Championship. This is the first time Kim Siwoo has received an invitation to the event.

Kim Siwoo finished among the top 30 in this year’s FedEx Cup standings, qualifying for the Tour Championship, the final playoff event. He also represented the International Team in the Presidents Cup, a golf competition against the U.S. Team.

Woods created the tournament in 2000. Although it is not an official PGA Tour event, world ranking points are at stake. Twenty top-ranked players compete in a 72-hole stroke-play tournament over four days. This year’s event will be held for four days starting December 3 at Albany Golf Course in the Bahamas.
