"The more healthily communities grow, the better able they are to solve local problems, and the richer the lives of residents become," he said.
Twelve appointed committee members received their appointment certificates that day. The 6th committee consists of 17 members in total: five ex officio members and 12 appointed members. The appointed members will serve two-year terms from October 1 this year through September 30, 2028.
At the meeting, participants shared updates on the operations of the Self-Governing Community Support Center and the results of this year's village community projects, and discussed future policy directions.
This year, the city is providing a total of 35 million won to 10 communities through a resident-proposal grant program. The funding supports activities led directly by residents, including promoting community participation among young adults with borderline intellectual functioning, caregiver groups for children with developmental disabilities, environmental protection, support for multicultural families, and care for older adults.
