Gyeonggi Province Inspects 1,006 Surveying Businesses and Agents; Finds Violations at 54
From July to September this year, Gyeonggi Province conducted guidance and inspections of 1,006 surveying businesses and agents authorized to inspect surveying equipment performance, uncovering violations at 54 locations.
The most common violation was failure to have surveying equipment inspected for performance on time, with 33 cases, accounting for 61% of all violations. This was followed by 17 cases of late reporting of changes to registration details, such as business address and technical staff; two cases of failing to meet the registration requirements for technical staff; and two other cases.
The inspections focused on whether businesses met and maintained the registration requirements for surveying services, reported changes to registration details, and had their surveying equipment inspected for performance.
Gyeonggi Province plans to take administrative measures against the businesses found in violation, in accordance with relevant regulations. It will proceed with cancellation of registration for businesses that fail to meet the registration requirements for technical staff, and impose fines on businesses that report changes late or delay performance inspections.
Delays in surveying equipment performance inspections, which account for 61% of all violations, have continued despite advance notification text messages. The province plans to strengthen related guidance and follow-up management.
Meanwhile, the rate of violations related to administrative procedures, as calculated by Gyeonggi Province, declined from 3.4% (40 cases) in 2024 to 2.1% (26 cases) in 2025 and 1.9% (19 cases) in 2026. The province believes regular guidance and inspections, along with administrative measures, have contributed to the decline in such violations.
