Elon Musk: "One SpaceX Share for Every Child in America"
Possible given his wealth
Whether it will happen remains uncertain
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said on the 19th (local time) that he would "give one of my SpaceX shares to every child in America next year."
That day, Musk pinned the post to the top of his personal X page, writing, "This will be the first of many things to come."
However, he did not provide details of the plan to distribute the shares.
Bloomberg estimated that it would cost about $10.5 billion (13.966 trillion won) for Musk to give one share to every child in the United States. The estimate was calculated using the current price of $146 per SpaceX share and the U.S. Census Bureau's estimate of about 72 million children in the country.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk's net worth exceeds $900 billion (1.196 quadrillion won). Most of it, or $700 billion (931 trillion won), comes from the value of his SpaceX shares.
