‘K-Game’ Festival at G-Star... Game Music Reimagined as Gugak
Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Creative Content Agency Game Culture Festival
IP-Based Interactive Exhibits and a "VALORANT" Competition
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency said on October 19 that they will host a game culture festival at G-Star 2026, which will be held at BEXCO in Busan from November 19 to 22. Under the slogan “PLAY K: Play Korea,” the festival will feature interactive exhibits, performances and esports competitions.
The exhibits will be arranged around four themes. At Pearl Abyss’ “Crimson Desert,” visitors can try archery and forage for field rations against the backdrop of Graymane Camp. In “Overwatch,” they will take on a mission to protect a city modeled on Busan. At Netmarble’s “MONGIL: STAR DIVE,” visitors can experience both tradition and gaming in Beomgol Village. NEOWIZ’s “Hello Seoul: Itaewon Episode” and “SANABI: A Haunted Day” will also welcome visitors with their own exhibition and interactive spaces, respectively.
The opening day will feature “K-Sound Stage,” a performance that reinterprets game music through gugak, traditional Korean music. The National Busan Gugak Center will perform music from “PUBG: Battlegrounds,” “AION” and “Lies of P: Overture,” among other games. Girl group Dodri and singer-songwriter Ahn Ye-eun will also perform. Dodri will debut a newly arranged version of “Blue Wind” from “MONGIL: STAR DIVE.”
The “GCF Esports League” will feature a “VALORANT” competition. Teams selected through online preliminaries on November 14 will compete in the finals for a total prize pool of 5 million won.
