He added, "Please pay special attention to thoroughly preparing the site in advance and improving the quality of the construction so that no defects emerge after the school opens and require repairs."
Yongin Semiconductor High School is being built with 24 classes on the site of the former Namgok Branch School in Namsa-eup, Cheoin-gu. Structural framework and exterior finishing work are currently underway, with completion targeted for December 2026.
The school is scheduled to open as a specialized semiconductor high school in 2027 and transition to a Meister high school in 2028. Applications for the 2027 academic year freshman admissions will be accepted from November 3 to 5, 2026.
Mayor Lee also instructed the city to reflect the achievements of civil servants who have practiced proactive administration in their performance evaluations for the second half of 2026.
"The purpose of performance evaluations is to recognize and encourage employees who have carried out their duties creatively," Mayor Lee said. "Please gather employees' opinions and operate the evaluation system systematically so that more employees can contribute fresh ideas."
He also stressed the need to expedite major projects and promote cooperation among departments.
