Dongdaemun-gu to Hold 'Unity Walk' at Baebongsan for 3,500 on Oct. 24
4.5-Kilometer Barrier-Free Trail... Join Without Registering in Advance
About 3,500 residents of Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, will walk together along the Baebongsan Mountain Trail on October 24. There is no participation fee, and anyone can join by showing up on the day without registering in advance.
Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Choi Dongmin) announced on October 19 that it will hold the “2026 Dongdaemun-gu Residents' Unity Walking Day” at 7 a.m. on October 24 at Baebongsan Open Plaza. The event is organized by the Dongdaemun-gu Sports Council and sponsored by the district.
The event will begin with a pre-ceremony performance, an opening ceremony, and warm-up exercises with a youth jump-rope demonstration team. Participants will walk an approximately 4.5-kilometer course along the Baebongsan Mountain Trail, then return to the Open Plaza to enjoy performances and a prize drawing. The trail has barrier-free wooden decking, so wheelchair users and people with strollers can also take part.
Prizes include a side-by-side refrigerator, TVs, bicycles, and household goods. Raffle tickets will be distributed at the course turnaround point. The prizes and performances are sponsored by 10 local organizations and businesses, including the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, Lotte Department Store's Cheongnyangni branch, Sahmyook Seoul Hospital, and KB Kookmin Bank.
