2,191 apartment units and 125 officetel units
Smart services, including autonomous vehicles and robots, to be introduced
Plans underway for President's Sejong Office and National Assembly Sejong Building
BS Hanyang said on October 19 that it will begin sales in November for Sejong Smart City L Sujain, a development in the Sejong Smart City National Pilot City. The complex will comprise 2,191 apartments and 125 officetel units.
The complex will be built across four blocks—L6, L7, L8, and L11—in Living Area 5-1, Hapgang-dong, Sejong City. All the apartments will have an exclusive area of 84 square meters: 818 units in L6, 648 in L7, 218 in L8, and 507 in L11. The officetels will comprise 30 units in L7, 25 in L8, and 70 in L11. A special-purpose company jointly established by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), Sejong City, and other participants will develop the complex, while BS Hanyang will build it.
Sejong Living Area 5-1 was designated a national smart city pilot zone in 2018. The project will apply advanced technologies in transportation, healthcare, education, and energy across approximately 2,744,000 square meters in Hapgang-dong. The pilot district where the complex will be built is divided into residential and commercial and business areas.
The national pilot city plans to introduce autonomous shared vehicles and an artificial intelligence (AI)-based transportation system in stages. Delivery and patrol robots, as well as robots that help carry luggage, are also slated for introduction. In Sejong, plans are also underway to build the Presidential Office in Sejong and the National Assembly Sejong Building. Both projects were included in the “National Land Transformation Strategy” announced by the government in August 2026.
Transportation network expansion projects are also underway in the Sejong area. The Chungcheong region metropolitan express railway (CTX) is a 64.4-kilometer route connecting the Government Complex Daejeon, the Government Complex Sejong, Jochiwon, and Cheongju International Airport. It passed a feasibility review for private investment in November 2025. The National Agency for Administrative City Construction is building an outer ring road in Living Area 6 connecting Hanbyeol-dong and Yongho-dong, with the goal of opening it in the second half of 2027.
Sites for planned kindergartens and elementary, middle, and high schools are located near the complex. Medical, commercial, and business facilities are also planned. The Geum River and Miho River are nearby, and parks, green spaces, and Hapho Seowon Historical Park are planned within the living area. The model home will be located in the Daepyeong-dong area of Sejong City.
