The program will run for about eight weeks, from December 28, 2026, to February 26, 2027. It offers three tracks: backend development, data engineering and data architecture, and service planning. Applicants must hold at least a bachelor's degree from a domestic or overseas four-year university and have graduated or be expected to graduate between August 2026 and August 2027.

Hyundai Motor and Kia will select trainees with the basic skills and knowledge required for each track through online assessments and interviews. Tuition is fully covered, and the equipment and software needed for the program will also be provided.

This ninth class focuses on strengthening AI skills. After restructuring the curriculum around AI for the previous, eighth class, the program has made developing "AI engineers" who can use AI tools in their work to set tasks, design solutions, and put them into practice its key goal.

The curriculum includes theory classes, team projects, and lectures by working developers on using AI agents. It also introduces one-on-one mentoring on AI use for the first time to help trainees use AI effectively during projects. The program will also feature role-specific meetups and project mentoring with Hyundai Motor and Kia employees.

Graduates will have the opportunity to take a final interview for entry-level software positions at Hyundai Motor and Kia. The program links training with recruitment so participants can build practical skills and potentially move on to employment.

"Softeer Bootcamp aims to develop AI engineers who will drive innovation in the mobility services ecosystem," said Jin Eunsook, president in charge of ICT at Hyundai Motor and Kia. "We will strengthen our training program and selection process in line with the latest trends, and continue investing in discovering software talent and advancing the AI transformation (AX)."

Launched in 2023, Softeer Bootcamp has trained about 600 participants through its eighth class. Graduates are working in software roles at major domestic information technology (IT) companies, including Hyundai Motor and Kia.
